Medical Director based in Derby and covers Derbyshire and East midlands
As a result of a planned retirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and well respected medical practitioner to join DHU in the role of Medical Director.
This role will will provide advice to the Chief Executive and Board on all professional medical issues in relation to the primary, urgent and emergency care agenda across the health community and lead clinical collaboration within the organisation, in partnership with other clinicians.
Minimum 22.5 per week plus additional hours as required.
The successful candidate will be:
- Able to demonstrate experience in leading and developing clinical teams and driving change where necessary in order to ensure the very best clinical outcomes to patients, and play an active role in driving clinical strategy and quality improvement in service delivery & patient care
- A dynamic and visionary leader who demonstrates the values of DHU
- Be an effective and credible representative when interacting and engaging with the CCGs and other key partners across the local, regional and national health and care system.
To be successful in this role, candidates will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to create impact, by engaging and influencing key stakeholders in order to facilitate positive change. They must be driven and passionate about creating and shaping an innovative strategic vision for the best possible long term benefit of the organisation and our patients.
The Medical Director is expected to contribute to the development and delivery of the wider clinical primary, urgent and emergency care systems and organisational agenda, and to work closely with the Director of Nursing and Quality to ensure effective clinical governance and quality service delivery within DHU.
Whilst the post is for a minimum of 3 days per week there is the opportunity to extend this to further sessions working in a variety of settings within DHU (both in or out of hours) or within another clinical setting.
