The GP Educator - Generalist Clinical Mentor (GCM) in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland

Do you have what it takes to inspire the next generation of doctors?

Dumfries & Galloway is proud to be hosting graduate entry medicine students (ScotGEM) in collaboration with the Universities of St Andrews and Dundee.
The first cohort of students started their studies in 2018 and ScotGEMs success to date has been remarkable. We are looking for another GP to join our Generalist Clinical Mentor (GCM) team to teach 2nd year students.
The post comprises of:
• 2+ clinical sessions a week in your local GP surgery base
• 1 day teaching at our state of the art Education Centre at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary (Tuesday)
• 1 day teaching within the surgery (Wednesday)

As a Health Board, we can also offer successful candidates opportunities to work in the Out of Hours service or in secondary care (e.g. ED, Frailty team)
This post is ideal for experienced GPs keen to inspire a new generation of doctors in the context of a more varied or portfolio career. Full training for the role will be provided. Attached to this post is a generous relocation package.
