GP Advisers – RCGP Primary Care Development Programme

The Royal College of General Practitioners is recruiting a number of General Practitioners, ideally across the North West, South West and Greater London regions, to work in an advisory role with GP practices as a member of our Primary Care Development team.

Over the past five years our national team of advisors have successfully supported over 200 practices through peer to peer support delivered by the Primary Care Development programme. This tried and tested service is continuously evolving to meet the needs of practices that require support to meet the challenges of modern primary care.

Primary care teams around the country are facing unprecedented pressures in trying to deliver the highest possible standards of care despite past under-investment and increasing patient demand. Practice resilience was a key priority within NHS England’s GP Forward View initiative, and the new Long-Term Plan with its promotion of Primary Care Networks and 2019 GP contract are set to create further challenges.

Please see the attached role description for full details.
