POSITION SUMMARY

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Assisting in the diagnosis and treatment patients in a primary care setting
  • Obtaining and interpreting patient imaging studies as well as laboratory tests.
  • Advise patients and their families on health care issues including health promotion, disease, illness, and accident prevention
  • Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
  • Perform patient advocacy role
  • Prescribing appropriate medication and dosing when necessary and outlining its, benefits, and side effects
  • Monitor patients and manage follow-up care plans in an outpatient clinic and hospital setting where necessary
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, lifestyle changes and current recommended literature
  •  participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment options for home care and support
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records.

REQUIREMENTS

  • UK trained physicians may follow the colleges’ pathways guidelines for licensing in Ontario.
  • Registration and License from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
  • Complete all medical Education and Training as outlined by the CPSO
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with using electronic medical record systems.

REMUNERATION DETAILS & TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Guaranteed income of $300,000 in year one and increasing to $600,000+ in second and third year.
  •  Working 45 hours per week including one Saturday (½ day)
  • Beginning with Fee for service and Joining the FHO
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuing education.

  • Some tasks and responsibilities will be eligible for remote work.
  • LMIA and Visa assistance will be provided for UK Trained Physicians
