The Islington GP Federation is seeking dynamic and innovative GPs to join its team at the Northern Medical Centre and Hanley Primary Care Centre in North London. This permanent role offers competitive salary options and flexibility to work between 3 to 6 sessions per week. GPs with varying levels of experience are encouraged to apply, particularly those with at least two years’ experience and leadership interests in areas like safeguarding.
As a salaried GP within this forward-thinking practice, you will be an integral part of the clinical team responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care. You will prioritise continuity and case management, even though you may not have a named patient list. The practices utilise a cutting-edge digital triage system, allowing you to ensure that every patient receives timely and appropriate care. Your administrative responsibilities will include managing pathology results, processing correspondence, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team (MDT), including pharmacists, nurses, and administrators.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Engage in both face-to-face and telephone consultations, covering same-day and planned care.
- Efficiently manage test results in cooperation with other GPs.
- Facilitate effective communication and handovers with team members.
- Participate in the triage of patient requests to prioritise urgent and complex cases.
- Support clinical administration tasks, including follow-ups and safety netting for patients.
Team Integration:
- Participate actively in team meetings and quality improvement projects.
- Mentor and supervise less experienced team members, contributing to training initiatives.
- Collaborate with various healthcare professionals, ensuring a team-based approach to patient care.
Care Delivery:
- Focus on providing safe, high-quality care by managing continuity for complex cases.
- Maintain clear clinical records and document your reasoning for decisions.
- Ensure compliance with practice policies and guidelines including confidentiality and data protection.
