Salaried GP Jersey, Channel Islands

Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands, situated between England and France. It has a rich history, vibrant culture and stunning beaches with breathtaking coastal walks. Travel to Jersey is around an hour from numerous UK airports, or travel via ferry from Poole or Portsmouth. Schooling is excellent - both state funded and private schools. Private schooling is cheaper than the UK, normally around £600 per calendar month (£7,500/year).

OUR PRACTICE

We are looking for a salaried GP to join our team at Clifden Surgery. Clifden is a four-clinician practice working in a modern, air-conditioned purpose-built surgery. We serve a population of 6,000 patients who are a kind and friendly group.

The practice is in St Helier, Jersey. Jersey runs a part private system where patients pay towards their appointments, the rest being covered by the Government of Jersey. Appointments are available same or next day, leading to patients normally presenting with just one concern per appointment. Virtually all appointments are face to face.

Hours and sessions are negotiable. We offer six weeks annual leave and one week study leave. There is a weekly education programme running to help keep doctors up to date.

WHAT WE OFFER

The start date for this position is January 2025.

Salary is up to £15,000 per session, depending on hours working. The surgery would pay for indemnity for sessions within the surgery. An interest in Women's Health would be preferable.

There is also a possibility of a trial of a long-term locum post (£150p/h for 6 patients / hour). However, we aim to provide continuity for our patients, so would prefer a salaried GP.
