We are a GP Practice in East Oxford, with approximately 10,000 patients, looking to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated GPs to join our team.

We are based in the East Oxford Health Centre, a purpose built GP surgery, on the vibrant Cowley Road, and are a modern, friendly practice, with a strong sense of community and patient care.

We operate in this fashion:

  • 15 minute appointments for telephone and face to face, 12 appointments per session, with follow-up slots for yourself to use.
  • Duty doctor sessions, usually supported by a paramedic or ANP.
  • Practice employed pharmacists and first contact physiotherapist as part of the PCN ARRS staff.
  • Medicines management done by practice prescribing pharmacists.
  • Morning 5 minute ‘huddle’ for all staff, to keep everyone informed about happenings in the practice and system.
  • Daily coffee meeting for all GPs.
  • Monthly Primary Health Care Team Meeting.
  • Minimal home visits (city Primary Care Visiting Service does acute visits).
  • GP partner mentor.
  • List based system – we value continuity of care for our patients.
  • Opportunities for flexible working around other commitments.
  • 6 weeks annual leave + 1 week study leave pro rata.
  • Supportive of clinician’s external interests and portfolio careers – ability to offer portfolio roles that include sessions on cross-City projects (eg Primary Care Visiting Service).
  • Established training practice.
  • Research practice.

As a salaried GP, you will manage a busy, interesting clinical caseload ensuring the highest standard of care for all patients. You will have the opportunity to lead on a key disease area and assist in developing services for our patient list.

We are a high achieving practice year on year for QOF and achieved Good across the board in our last CQC inspection.

For further information and/or to arrange an informal discussion about the role, please contact Ivan More O’Ferrall via our practice email address, bartlemas.admin@nhs.net
