Clinical Lead for GP with Extended Roles Dermatology Accreditation

Part time, 6 hours per week (with potential to increase to 8)

One year fixed term contract, employed role

Salary £14,599 per annum

The Clinical Lead for GP with Extended Role (GPwER) Dermatology Accreditation will be responsible for the development, delivery, quality assurance and evaluation of the College’s trial process of portfolio accreditation for GPwERs in Dermatology, to be delivered in collaboration with relevant specialty partners.

The post holder will lead the development and implementation of accreditation processes, ensuring a consistently high standard of assessment against the relevant standards, and lead on assessor training and calibration, as well as design an evaluation approach to inform the future development of the RCGP’s extended role accreditation programme. 

The successful candidate will be a GPwER/GPwSI in dermatology, have a sound knowledge of the 2011 revised guidance and competencies for the provision of services using GPs with Special Interests in Dermatology and Skin Surgery, and be in current practice in a primary care role.  They will also have demonstrable experience in the development of assessment standards, the provision of training, mentorship and support to assessors or a similar group, and be knowledgeable of appraisal and revalidation processes.   

The post holder is also required to be a Member or Fellow of the RCGP in good standing.
