General Practitioner - Brent Urgent Care Centre

Be the doctor you want to be (and more)

At Care UK we are looking to recruit dynamic GP’s to join our growing team in the flagship Urgent Care Centre, Central Middlesex Hospital. The UCC runs a 24 hour, 7 days a week service, with an enthusiastic team of GPs, Advanced Nurse practitioners, Paramedic practitioners, HCAs and reception staff providing emergency treatment to patients.

As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, the General Practitioner will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements including minor injuries, illness and fractures. Brent UCC is one of the first stand-alone Urgent Care Centres of its kind, and offers the exciting opportunity for all involved to be a part of this innovative dynamic ever evolving service.

It doesn’t end there; you will have a chance to become actively involved in audit, teaching and training as well as helping us to adapt the service to the ever-changing needs of the population. Educational meetings are held twice a month – this provides many opportunities to hear from in-house and external speakers and manage your CPD requirements for appraisal/revalidation.

And don’t just take our word for how rewarding the service can be. Our GPs were happy to say;

“Brent UCC is an exciting place to work dealing with a variety of clinical presentations and working with very supportive experienced team of clinicians”

“The service is very well run and the work load steady but not excessive…in my opinion it's ironically less stressful than a day in a GP Practice”

On offer is £95,000 per year full time with payment of MDU/MPS subscription included. Annual leave entitlement is 25 days per year plus bank holidays. Study leave entitlement is 5 days per year pro-rata, with the potential for funding on application. As part of your engagement with Brent UCC you will be expected to undertake overnight and weekend sessions equating to around 25% of the work you do.

To be successful in this role you will have MRCGP and ideally previous A+E/OOH experience. Minor injury management and radiology interpretation are desirable but can be arranged through courses and peer support for the right candidate. This position will responsible to the Lead GPs and the Service Managers.
