The Western Isles is a beautiful island off the cost of Scotland. They are looking for cover for a few of their locations .... 


BARRA -ISLAND 24/7 COVER

9th February - 18th February 

28th February - 3rd March

5th  - 7th March

The hospital has 5 inpatient beds which serve a population of 1200 patients.  The Barra role is a 24/7 model/on call.   Support is provided by a team of nurses.    Complex patients are airlifted off island to mainland or Western Isles Hospital. 

Self-catering accommodation provided and travel costs paid.

Mileage Rate: 25p             


LEWIS AND HARRIS OOH 

7th February - 20th @ 08:00 

23rd February - 4th March 08:00

The OOH GP is responsible for triaging NHS24 calls and seeing NHS24 patients in the Primary Care centre located in the A&E department of the Western Isles hospital, a designated Rural General hospital, as well as providing Custody Care for the police.     The majority of home visits are done by a B6 nurse with acute assessment skills and can prescribe.

 The GP is not required to be resident in the hospital although often the GP tends to stay

UIST

28th January - 3rd February - Priority

March 11th - 24th March finishing : 08:00 25th

25th March - 7th April finishing : 08:00 8th April. 


The Uist Hospital out of hours - includes both GP out of hours and A&E.  The hospital has 17 inpatient beds.  Support is provided by an experienced nursing team with a range of skill sets.  Complex patients are airlifted off island to mainland or Western Isles Hospital.

Week night shifts                    Weekend Shifts

18:00 - 08:00                          24 hours with 2nd on call GP

Mileage rate: 0.25p

Self-catering accommodation provided and travel costs paid.
