RCGP Wales Associate in Training (AiT) Representative

What does the role involve:

You will be the advocate for AiTs in Wales, providing a voice locally and nationally to improve trainee member experience. You are a member of the RCGP who will help build and engage the local community by acting as the point of contact for trainees and supporting the development of tailored events.

Key elements of the role:

  • Engage with AiT members throughout training to identify needs or gaps in the RCGP member offering and work with RCGP Wales to address.
  • Encourage AiT membership throughout the training years.
  • Working alongside RCGP Wales, provide input into innovative, tailored events and support for the AiT Community
  • Acting as a point of contact for AiTs, addressing queries and concerns, as well as signposting.
  • Represent AiTs at quarterly RCGP Wales Council Meetings and submit a quarterly report to Welsh Council.
  • Represent Welsh AiTs by attending and reporting back on National AiT Committee meetings (and sub-committees if elected).
  • Time commitment of approximately one day per month.
  • There is a degree of flexibility in the role and that time committed may vary depending on the time of year or your personal capacity at any one time.
