RCGP Tamar Faculty Education Lead - Devon and Cornwall
The Faculty Education Lead will be responsible for developing a programme of CPD for College Members and other GPs and primary care professionals in their locality. They will also support the establishment and maintenance of any small group learning sets (or similar) in their Faculty.
The Faculty Education Lead will be a qualified General Practitioner with experience in medical education, or interest in developing their skills as an educator with support from the Faculty.
The Education Lead will work closely with the College’s Learning Delivery team who will promote, deliver and evaluate the impact of the local programme, in coordination with other CPD activities across the College.
The Education Lead will be a member of, and accountable to, the Faculty Board. The postholder will attend quarterly Faculty Board meetings and the Faculty AGM, to report on CPD activities and develop future programmes.
The Education Lead will engage proactively with Faculty Executive Officers and the Regional Engagement Manager in the development of the annual Faculty Plan, which is shared with Board members for ratification each November for the subsequent year. The Education Lead will be supported by the Learning Delivery team, with a dedicated administrative contact.
The postholder will be part of a UK-wide network of RCGP Faculty Education Leads and will be expected to engage with this network and attend virtual Faculty educator meetings every two months to ensure coordination and consistency across the College’s Faculty CPD provision. The Faculty Education Lead network will be convened and supported by the RCGP Clinical Lead for CPD.
