Portfolio GP/GPsi cardiologist role in Basingstoke and Alton Cardiac Rehabilitation Charity

A unique opportunity to become the Clinical Lead for the founding Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention service based in Alton, Hampshire

Responsible for all clinical aspects of exercise rehabilitation and service development, you will make clinical assessments of high-risk cardiac patients referred to ‘Staywell’ primary prevention or Phase 4 cardiac rehabilitation.  This is essential to ensuring safe exercise limits and effective exercise outcomes for 800+ patients on roll & 200+ referrals annually.

With the Board you will set the strategic direction for the charity’s exercise services and support the Health Programme Team delivering KPIs, including fitness improvement outcomes. You will liaise with colleagues in primary and secondary care and be an ambassador for the service.

Your weekly sessional clinic will provide initial and follow up assessments for patients with a history of heart disease or ongoing symptoms/poor cardiac function to ensure that prescribed exercise manages the risk of complications occurring, but still ensures improved fitness outcomes.
