Salary £20,885.84 per annum (bassed on 92 sessions)

The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. The RCGP is looking to recruit a Clinical Lead to be responsible for the development, delivery, and quality assurance of the Workplace Based Assessment component of the MRCGP. The successful applicant will be appointed for a 3-year term (renewable) and assume office on 6 September 2021.

The “Workplace Based Assessment Clinical Lead” will be responsible for ensuring that the WPBA component of the MRCGP is delivered to a high standard, meets all relevant requirements and that the content and methodology is appropriate to the current educational climate for general practice.

They will Chair the WPBA Core Group, which is responsible for providing strategic guidance and technical support for the development and delivery of the WPBA and work collaboratively with College staff to produce, oversee or commission learning resources to support trainees and their trainers.

The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of the regulatory framework governing postgraduate medical education and the certification process for doctors completing higher specialist training. They must be able to demonstrate that they understand assessment theory, have a good working knowledge of WPBA in general practice and are engaged with the GP education/assessment community.

The role requires a flexible, innovative and proactive style and approach and applicants should be able to demonstrate communication, team-building and leadership skills.
