One Day Essentials is a series of one day online conferences – broadcast live - providing expert specialist clinical training and essential information.
These conferences are recorded live and the sessions will be available for delegates to access freely for six months from the webinar date.
Cancer care is a growing part of our workload in general practice, with the launch of the new GP Contract and the new QOF QI module on cancer screening and early diagnosis. Cancer is an area of medicine where we can make huge positive differences to patients' lives. We all fear missing a cancer presentation and delaying a cancer diagnosis. The symptoms of cancer are shared with many other conditions, many of which are more common and not so serious. In addition, 40% of cancers are preventable.
We will be reviewing if GP's have a role in prevention, and what that might look like. Do e-cigarettes have a role? We will look at how we can practice safely, without extending the working day. There also new treatments for cancer – what do GP's need to know about them? We hope that by the end of the day you will feel more confident in prevention, early diagnosis, and understand what new treatments mean for both patients and their GP's and other clinical colleagues.
